Chris Jordan Pictures: Consumer Fractals of America

Massive cellphone spiral wave (world technovortex into itself).
Chris Jordan is an american artist who explores the "vast and bizarre measures of our society" weaving distance into fractal: "near vs far" or the pounding methamorphosis of molecules into mountains. "I hope to raise some questions about the role of the individual in a society that is increasingly enormous, incomprehensible, and overwhelming".

Bizzare city assembled of circuitry-boards as blocks of slumming dystopian urbanity.

Depicts two million plastic beverage bottles, the number used in the US every five minutes.

"Running the Numbers looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics".

Depicts 32,000 Barbies, equal to the number of elective breast augmentation surgeries performed monthly in the US in 2006.

Depicts one hundred million toothpicks, equal to the number of trees cut in the U.S. yearly to make the paper for junk mail.

Brilliant Noise Magnetic Film

Brilliant Noise from Semiconductor on Vimeo.

Brilliant Noise takes us into the data vaults of solar astronomy. After sifting through hundreds of thousands of computer files, made accessible via open access archives, Semiconductor have brought together some of the sun's finest unseen moments. These images have been kept in their most raw form, revealing the energetic particles and solar wind as a rain of white noise. This grainy black and white quality is routinely cleaned up by NASA, hiding the processes and mechanics in action behind the capturing procedure. Most of the imagery has been collected as single snapshots containing additional information, by satellites orbiting the Earth. They are then reorganised into their spectral groups to create time-lapse sequences. The soundtrack highlights the hidden forces at play upon the solar surface, by directly translating areas of intensity within the image brightness into layers of audio manipulation and radio frequencies.

Elephant Indra escapes and crashes bus in Mexico

A 40 year old, 5 ton she-elephant named Indra, like the Hindu goddess of the holographic pearl necklace, escaped the circus and crashed against a bus in a highway in Mexico.

The bus driver and the elephant both were killed by the accident; Tomás López Durán, the driver, managed to keep the wheels and get off the road into a swampy terrain and hit a contention wall, before finally passing way. Of the 40 plus passengers, only 2 are seriously wounded, 11 have minor injuries and thhe rest suffered no damages.

The accident, which occurred in Mexico-Tulancingo highway, happened after the elephant rebelled at her caretaker who was trying to feed her in the warehouses of Circo Union.

Apparently Indra broke a metallic door and rampaged into the night near the Teotihuacan Pyramids, straying into road and finding death in a curve.

New (Geo)Eye for Google Earth

Google launched in a joint effort a week ago a satellite that will provide the highest resolution images for commercial purposes yet. Being able to zoom in up to 15 cms, it will only release images at half-meter ground resolution for legal reasons. Google is reaching the levels of military spy technology, and not only in this aspect but in all related to accessing private information. It might be relevant to ask in the future, who will win Google or this or that first-world government?

Krakatua volcano (Indonesia) captured by GeoEye

The camara of the Geo-Eye 1 is able to process up to 700 megapixels per second, a speed at which it would be able to photograph all of Spain in 1 day and a half. GeoEye-1 is designed to take digital images of the Earth from 423 miles (681 kilometers). Moving at a speed of about 4.5 miles (7 kilometers) per second, the satellite camera can distinguish objects on the Earth’s surface as small as 0.41-meter or 16 inches in size.

The satelite´s cost is 350 million euros.

Raffaella Fico, from italian big brother, sells virginity for 1 m euros

Raffella Fico joins a recent goldrush to cash in on virginity and achieve financial stability. Sort of saying "I will give you the flower of my feminity for money to make my dreams come true".

Fico 20, told an Italian magazine: "I can't wait to see who's going to pull out the money to have me." (Fico expects to get 1 million euros for her sex primacy).

Miss Fico, who appeared in the Italian version of Big Brother earlier this year, said she would use the cash to buy a house in Rome and pay for acting classes.

"I don't know what it's like to have sex," she told the magazine, Chi, adding that if the man who bought her virginity was ugly then she would quickly get over it.

"If I don't like him I'll just have a glass of wine and forget about it," said the aspiring actress from Naples - hometown of screen siren Sophia Loren.

Her family insisted that despite her good looks and sexy image, she remained a virgin.

"She's never had a boyfriend. I swear on my mother's grave. She's a devout Catholic and prays to Padre Pio every night," her brother told the magazine.

She is the not the first woman to auction her virginity for a large sum. An 18-year-old US student in San Diego, Natalie Dylan, recently told the Howard Stern show she would have sex for the first time for $1 million to pay her college fees.

In 2005 a Peruvian model, also 18, put herself up for sale to help pay her family's medical bills but ended up having second thoughts and turning down 1.5 million.

How mucho would yo pay to have sex with superstar virgin Adriana Lima? Perhaps more than Real Madrid for Christiano Ronaldo.

First contact - Begins 14th October 2008-Mothership in the sky

Is this a another hoax or part of the strain of viral marketing, ala Montauk Monster?. Well we will have to wait, but it will certainly be interesting to keep an a eye on October skies. Whether we find a fake hologram (government or advertisement ) spaceship, Pleiadian revelation or just the same blue mirror of ourselves in the sky.

Some Youtube comments:

McKauhu (1 hour ago) Reply: Hopefully this is true

imtheone06 (11 hours ago) Reply: ya know what, I heard that this whole thing is staged by the U.S. govt. and that it will be a hologram built by nasa to fake an alien visitation. Now I don't know if this is true or not, but this is just what I've heard. IF it really is an alien mothership, then that would be too incredible for words..

waterkeeper511 (3 hours ago) Reply I heard they want to stage an alien *invasion* whereas THESE aliens are the good ones.
xalexdomaumano (13 hours ago) I Wish i'm lying(don't know how to right)
but i don't think they'll make contact with us... and if the make it it would be amazing imagine what's the number of theyr's PS they must be at PS3000

saveamericaplease (14 hours ago) Reply: How do we not know that when they showup on Oct 14 2008, it is not bluebeam. The people on this world can see truth in our own hearts, if we just look for our selves. The earth will change as it always has and we will change.Don't follow others over a cliff,be a leader and look within. If your gut feeling tells you it's right, that is what I would investigate.Don't listen to my words or others, hear your inner voice. We can do this, just think and be positive and the world will change..

cdc51049 (14 hours ago) Reply: This is wonderful! They have been waiting a long time for the right time to make open, public contact. Their appearance will plunge us into a new reality that will challenge a lot people's belief systems - particularly those that are fear-based. Adjustment is a very organic process. Embrace this with your whole being and let it happen. Your body and mind may to do some wierd stuff while adjusting to the new reality. This is normal. Body work, energy work, meditation, breathing will help.

"Staring at (Schrodinger's) Cat Staring at Cat Staring"

"Staring at cat staring at cat staring" by Steve Bishop

A clay sculpture that plays with deep ideas with great naturality: sort of an infinite loop flowing, like a mirror against a mirror with the river ebbing and flowing through the circuitry of the eyes laser star war light (perhaps the eternal golden braid between Bach, Escher and Godel). And last but not least, playing with the quantum (cat) paradox proposed by Edwin Schrodinger as an image of the undecidable principle in reality, the o,1 nature: cat dead or alive, being both at the same time and only one of the before when perception ("the ray of an other eye") endows it with its function-collapsing reality, an extension of the wave-particle duality. This time the uncertainty (the catch) being which cat will explode first.

David Lynch questions 9/11 events

Seven years after the 9/11 events, several questions, like those of David Lynch, have kept unanswered by official versions. The truth has not being unveiled and the ultradark atmosphere surrounding the "attacks" has prevailed. Maybe we should ask the Biderberg members for their version of the story and wait for some other odd happenings to come soon. In the meanwhile we could have fun and remember that, according to master Mckenna, human evolution´s ultimate goal is a really good party.

The Large Hadron Collider ignites its search for divinity in physics

The world´s most powerful machine is ready to probe into microinfinity in search for the basic constituents of matter and space. The Large Hadron Collider will start its metaengines in less than 12 hours from, now at CERN (European Center for Nuclear Research) in the French-Swiss border, September 10 at 730 GMT.

And contrary to popular fears (even a lawsuit was reared) the LHC will not trigger a world-destroying black hole or a strange sci-fi vortex that will devour the world. It is a fat chance, physics all over the world are confident it will not release a deathray.

But much more, physicists are excited the experiment will yield vital gogoplex´s of data that will help understand the basic fabric of our world, and possibly even find the Higgs boson, dubbed the "God particle", for its ghost-like qualities and its keystone position in the latticework of modern physics. The Higgs boson is the only unobserved elementary particle and could confirm the predictions and missing links in the Standard Model of physics and could explain how other elementary particles acquire properties such as mass. Additionally it is expected that the LHC might shed some light and help solve the inconsistencies between relativity theory and quantum mechanics and probe into the present mysteries of physics wich include dark matter, supersymmery and the existence of parallel universes folded in 10 dimensional space.

The Large Hadron Collider took 14 years to build with a cost more than 8 billion dollars. It is 27 kilometes long, built in a circular tunnel between 50 and 120 meters deep in the Swiss-French border.

More than 8 thousand scientists of 80 different countries are working on the project, which is being tagged as the culmen of scientific experimentation.

Bioluminescent waves: blue light ocean break

Bioluminescent dinoflagellates (Lingulodinium polyedrum) lighting a breaking wave at midnight. The blue light is a result of a luciferase enzyme (like firefly luciferase, but the enzyme in L. polyedrum shares no similarity with that of the firefly enzyme). Under the right conditions, the dinoflagellates become so numerous that the water takes on a muddy reddish color (hence the name "Red Tide").

Geostationary Banana over Texas

This "weird but yellow" public space art installation, a project of Montreal artist Cesar Saez, will float soon over Texas' skies between the high atmosphere and the low orbit, and it'll be visible from any point of this southern state. The giant banana with a length of over 300 meters will spy on oil-ranch dark guys from 50 km above. The total cost of the Geostationary Banana is 1.5 million dollars.
