Elephant Indra escapes and crashes bus in Mexico

A 40 year old, 5 ton she-elephant named Indra, like the Hindu goddess of the holographic pearl necklace, escaped the circus and crashed against a bus in a highway in Mexico.

The bus driver and the elephant both were killed by the accident; Tomás López Durán, the driver, managed to keep the wheels and get off the road into a swampy terrain and hit a contention wall, before finally passing way. Of the 40 plus passengers, only 2 are seriously wounded, 11 have minor injuries and thhe rest suffered no damages.

The accident, which occurred in Mexico-Tulancingo highway, happened after the elephant rebelled at her caretaker who was trying to feed her in the warehouses of Circo Union.

Apparently Indra broke a metallic door and rampaged into the night near the Teotihuacan Pyramids, straying into road and finding death in a curve.

A dog at a southeast Kansas zoo has adopted three tiger cubs abandoned by their mother. Safari Zoological Park owner Tom Harvey said the tiger cubs were born Sunday, but the mother had problems with them. So the retriever stepped up to the plate.
